What I mean when I say a drama is perfect is when the drama has good acting, a crisp and gripping storyline, good camerawork, well-written dialogues and the perfect length.</p><p>And I found my PERFECT Korean drama.</p><p>*SPOILER ALERT*</p><p>Juvenile Justice was my latest Korean watch on Netflix and the drama kept me hooked and invested. When the trailer had released, it was already on my TBW list, but I had not expected it to be this good.</p><p>Sim Eun Seok (Kim Hye Soo) is a newly appointed judge in the Yeonhwa District Court Juvenile Criminal Division and she hates juvenile offenders. She is mysterious and unfriendly and has her own way of providing justice to the victims and solving each case.</p><p>The cases are extremely interesting. There are six cases in total and all of them are different from each other. Each case shows a different side of the victim, the criminal, and the judges. They each provide us with a message. The characters also grow as the show progresses and that is just wonderful. Every person is given what they deserve. They went all out with the cases, them being gory and graphic.</p><p>It was the crisp writing that I loved. There are so many good dialogues and memorable lines. Also, the show was just of the perfect length. It has 10 episodes and it fits the plot beautifully. There is nothing unnecessary. It is a full package- with mystery and action added apart from the law-centred main story. </p><p>I love it when a story perfectly ends where it starts. With each case, there were multiple incidents that were going on in the background and by the time the drama ends, everything is wrapped up nicely. There are no loose ends. </p><p>If there is anything that I did not like was how the last case was solved. Compared to the previous cases and how much details they showed, the last case felt a little rushed. Even though I loved how all the previous cases were handled, I still think Sim Eun Seok should not have been the judge for the last case. </p><p>I have been watching most Kim Hye Soo dramas ever since I got to know about her in Signal, so this drama was already in my TBR. As usual she doesn't disappoint. She was just perfect for the role and I honestly cannot imagine anyone else playing it. You know an actor has done a good job when you feel the character they portray. The teenage actors did a great job and so did the adult actors.</p><p>Although the drama is Korean in language, it resonates throughout all countries and shows how a juvenile case should be dealt with and also how to take care of a child. </p><p>As Sim Eun Seok said- "They say it takes a whole village to raise a child. In other words, a child could be ruined if the village neglects them."</p><p>You can watch this drama on Netflix.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Ronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08194007791727286104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-82630701192769087792022-02-28T09:56:00.004-08:002022-03-16T08:49:08.514-07:00Movie Review- Love and Leashes<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjD7uRY5Wruj11ipGkKTii3c_DbvwjmDlgseGV7uwJXOlhkRAODrDP2NI5zLZj8G5SIqUKzJAkvbu_eLYWRSsTOVrjpYS3kJ-40p9K0Aj57qP-ADQfZ_wIDCFogFao2wyYa4PKgDPHQa4FyfRofuDeabtv0xlfYzQ5chBBkuZHuCAZkNGb8jYWWwmv1=s384" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="384" data-original-width="259" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjD7uRY5Wruj11ipGkKTii3c_DbvwjmDlgseGV7uwJXOlhkRAODrDP2NI5zLZj8G5SIqUKzJAkvbu_eLYWRSsTOVrjpYS3kJ-40p9K0Aj57qP-ADQfZ_wIDCFogFao2wyYa4PKgDPHQa4FyfRofuDeabtv0xlfYzQ5chBBkuZHuCAZkNGb8jYWWwmv1=s320" width="216" /></a></div><p></p><br /><p>I don't usually like watching romances or rom-coms, as they are hardly able to hold my interest or attention. Love and Leashes was an exception. </p><p>The only movie I know of which is popular which deals with sex and BDSM has been the Fifty Shades franchise with three movies under their belt. So Netflix's movie Love and Leashes and their BDSM theme immediately grabbed my and everyone else's attention. I was excited as to what would the movie be about and whether it was worth my time or not. Well, I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't very impressed.</p><p><span style="color: red;"><b>*SPOILER ALERT*</b></span></p><p>Jung Ji Woo (Seohyun) and Jung Ji Hoo (Lee Jun Young) are office mates in the same department. Most people get confused with their names and in one such incident- Ji Hoo's package is mistakenly received by Ji Woo. When Ji Woo open's it, she sees it is a leash which is an object of S&M. Ji Hoo decides to open up to her to clear misunderstandings between them.</p><p>The concept of the movie was fresh and brilliant. Speaking of sex and BDSM, I have mostly seen cringy films, which either do not have any concept of consent or they just start off anywhere. The Fifty Shades franchise started decently, but could not follow up well. Unlike those movies, this does a pretty good job. It explored the concept of BDSM very maturely and was very informative. It clears many misconceptions and warns us about certain dangers as well.</p><p>They tried to keep the movie as clean as possible, showing just the right amount of any action.</p><p>The story was good, the comic timing was great too. What it fell flat on was the acting. </p><p>I have seen most dramas of Lee Jun Young- he mostly does thrillers or serious roles and I love them. He did his best here, looked cute, also expressed the duality of his character very well, but still, something felt lacking. It felt as if he could have probably done better, or maybe he wasn't just the right person for the role.</p><p>Now coming to Seohyun. I like the effort a few of Girls Generation members try to put into acting, but all idols cannot be actors. Seohyun and Yoona prove my point. I will never get used to their acting. Seohyun's character was just felt weird. She had this robotic demeanour where she was just expressionless. In places, her acting even felt cringy. She just barely managed.</p><p>The movie did a great job, but it could have done much better. Apart from the BDSM part, there was nothing else that stood out. It is a one-time watch. </p><p>You can watch this film on Netflix.</p><p><br /></p>Ronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08194007791727286104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-92118670490553502282020-09-14T09:50:00.001-07:002020-09-14T09:50:40.068-07:00[Drama Review] Nice Witch/The Good Witch - How good is too good?<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">Have you ever felt that level of frustration whilst watching a Korean drama where you end up swearing left and right at your screen?</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihFtTN4r2bh86nCSZnUlCXD72ZCnReMLGNt9VFhx4trzIM1C8KVDAYC1ThyphenhyphenfR9vY1vDUM4YJlp8tGTTuHuy-jmYVpQLuv6Saju-NvBqxdg5VvhrijSjwZb5HoLgj8wtTX6ptFRADo7PNk/s1732/good-witch-header.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1158" data-original-width="1732" height="419" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihFtTN4r2bh86nCSZnUlCXD72ZCnReMLGNt9VFhx4trzIM1C8KVDAYC1ThyphenhyphenfR9vY1vDUM4YJlp8tGTTuHuy-jmYVpQLuv6Saju-NvBqxdg5VvhrijSjwZb5HoLgj8wtTX6ptFRADo7PNk/w625-h419/good-witch-header.jpg" width="625" /></a></div><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">Nice Witch/ The Good Witch aired in 2018 from March to May and I feel horrible for delaying it. This drama has wonderful casting and their acting gets better over time. The story is about two women Cha Sun Hee and Cha Do Hee who are twins (both played by Lee Da Hae!). They are twins by birth but in character, personality, goals and conviction, they are complete opposites.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOctfHOcOOi1KpwXyv26e-LTVrtYSToTpF5icOILW_CkOjAWaNuvKhNKRANTI79Bh5nmpNJl_nKZZDsv5jIB3BEnrA8hOV4ac8mSP2MisJq4MS33di1CoTM9SUtLxSMUYxJlauO77Fq28/s540/Lee-Da-Hae-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="359" data-original-width="540" height="416" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOctfHOcOOi1KpwXyv26e-LTVrtYSToTpF5icOILW_CkOjAWaNuvKhNKRANTI79Bh5nmpNJl_nKZZDsv5jIB3BEnrA8hOV4ac8mSP2MisJq4MS33di1CoTM9SUtLxSMUYxJlauO77Fq28/w625-h416/Lee-Da-Hae-3.jpg" width="625" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">Their father was a Lieutenant who was wrongly accused of murder after being killed brutally. I said "after" because while he was alive, he tried to save a woman from being assaulted/killed by two men. But she barely managed to flee while they killed him, pleading self-defense in court. His wife and his daughters began a search for the woman to save his honor but the woman was a no-show.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">After plummeting in financial status, the wife and the two daughters worked odd-jobs to get through. While Sunhee was always a kindhearted person, she lacked a fierceness that was needed to stand up for herself and so she came across as a pushover, a naive person who was easily taken advantage of. Dohee, on the other hand, was always quick to pick fights and absolute no-nonsense person.Her father's death made her lose belief in being a "Nice" person and her sister, Sunhee seemed like a spitting image of her father. So she hated Sunhee and tried to make a life for herself in her own way by stepping on her sister. It, however, made her into a cold-hearted witch. Both the girls dreamed of becoming a Stewardess but only Dohee realized her dream. Sunhee got married to a person she loved (Bae Soobin) and had a daughter, Bong Chorong (Lee Hanseo) (and this little darling is the heart of this drama<3).</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">The drama ensues when Dohee faces a dangerous situation and is put in a comatose-like state and her sister must take her place. While being Dohee, Sunhee figures all the things each one has been doing wrong in their lives. She meets new people, some who are there for her like Captain Song (Ryu Soo Young) and Oh Tae Yang (Ahn Woo Yeon) and some who want her gone (maybe even dead) like Oh Tae Ri (Yoon Se-Ah) and her husband Choi Kang Min (Shim Hyung Tak). While she deals with her new life, Sunhee must make things right before her sister wakes up while also dealing with her own set of problems as Cha Sunhee.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">This drama touches on a lot of topics. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">How a family can get affected due to the loss of the breadwinner. How money problems can lead to discord in the family. How being supremely nice can allow people to walk all over you. How authoritative and powerful people can abuse their power to manipulate others. How people can be quick to back-bite and back-stab while maintaining a friendly demeanor. How physical and mental abuse can corner a person until they break down and take wrong decisions. How being a bystander can only lead to more crimes. How "cheating" can ruin your family. How greed can ruin you.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">The better things - </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">How being Nice can help people trust you. How being Nice can help you make undying connections. </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">How being Nice can eventually help you change the world. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">While it was gripping watching the adults in this show being on each other's necks, Bong Chorong is the only kid in the drama and honestly she saved the show. She was more quick-witted than any of them adults and undoubtedly the most lovable character. It was so interesting to see be there for her mother whenever she needed to be. Even though she is just a little girl, she can tell wrong from right, an ability that even the most polished adults may fail to acquire.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">This drama was very triggering for me. I was anxious and as the story built-up, the knot in my heart got tighter and tighter and only in the last episode did it come undone, relieving me. I am glad I didn't watch it while it was airing because that would have been utterly nerve wrecking. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">The romance of the leads softly mixed with comedy made the cruel bits in this drama bearable. Love can really save people. Love is certainly blind but not stupid. No matter how uncannily similar two people look, the heart that is in love can recognize who it beats for.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The OSTs are really good.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">I have completed watching a Korean drama after what would be ages. I loved it and I recommend it as well.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">Bonus - Did you know that this drama has parodied the very famous "Nut-rage" incident that shocked people all over back in 2014?</span></p>Bhagoramahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16339182243605533037noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-66175948006651265572020-09-09T07:06:00.002-07:002020-09-09T07:15:16.609-07:00Drama review- Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung<p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="New posters and stills for Rookie Historian Gu Hae-ryung » Dramabeans Korean drama recaps" src="https://d263ao8qih4miy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/9637b3f2-99ec-413f-b367-d70ebc70b95a.jpg" /></p><p>This year I have not been watching many K-dramas, but the few that I have seen they have left me very happy and very satisfied. I am yet to see a bad drama till now.</p><p>I wasn't planning to watch Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung- reason? Shin Se Kyung. Honestly speaking, I do not like her acting- at all. I have never liked her in any role she has ever played. It looks very fake. But then a friend kinda forced me into watching this drama when I told I wasn't watching it because she was there. She told me to give it a try- her acting is good here and she also gave me a second reason- the ever handsome Cha Eun Woo. So I ended up watching it, and thoroughly enjoyed it.</p><p><b><span style="color: red;">*SPOILERS*</span></b></p><p>Goo Hae Ryung (Shin Se Kyung) is a young girl whose brother- Goo Jae Kyung (Kong Jung Hwan) wants her to get married. She is highly educated and wants to live a free life. Marriage for her is something that will bind her for life.Hence on the day of the wedding, after discussing with her fiance, she runs away to answer the entrance exam which has been organized by the King to appoint female historians. She gets accepted and becomes one of the four female historians who work for the King. Then starts a series of incidents where they have to prove themselves worthy of the post while the younger Prince- Lee Rim (Cha Eun Woo) falls for her.</p><p>There are many reasons why one will enjoy the drama. </p><p>First of all- it is extremely relatable. The drama brilliantly portrays workspace discrimination- in the Joseon era- which is still prevalent, but was worse back then. Females were not allowed official positions- however much they would be educated. They would be gossiped about and bullied- even though they were as qualified as their male colleagues. The 4 girls fight through all of that to secure their positions as historians.</p><p>Secondly, it questions the solidarity of an Historian- how much should they know, not know, how biased it should be, how should they work, who is accountable to them- everything. It was really, really interesting- how things worked and were recorded back then. It was like getting to know about a new profession altogether- a profession I had no idea existed until now. (I have recently started noticing historians in other period dramas.)</p><p>Then there is the story-line-. Although there are multiple narratives going in the drama- all the narratives are dealt with very beautifully. None of the narratives feel rushed or incomplete. They are nicely entwined with each to give us a polished and an extremely interesting drama. I cannot pinpoint the genre of this drama exactly. It is a period drama which also has romance, comedy, politics, mystery and even some amount of action.</p><p>Lastly, I have to talk about the chemistry between our protagonists- Lee Rim and Goo He Ryung. I love the what Lee Rim does initially (to know that watch the drama) and how he meets Goo Hae Ryung. The romance is very, very sweet and adorable- more like teenage romance yet not cheesy or cringy. It is so adorable. It is beautiful to see how they always support each other. There is more to their relationship and to know that- watch the drama.</p><p>If I did not like anything- well- there was nothing I did not like in this drama. Cha Eun Woo's acting did feel a little weak initially, but then it was fine because that was how his character was as well- a little timid- again, initially. He became better as the drama proceeded. Also- kudos to whoever has designed Eun Woo's costumes. I could not take my eyes off those pastel coloured Hanboks he wore in the drama. They looked marvelous on his handsome face- accentuating his good looks.</p><p>This drama is an extremely light watch- watch it when you have nothing to watch and you don't want to use your brains- it will help you relax and enjoy. But do watch it- highly recommended. It is now available on Netflix.</p>Ronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08194007791727286104noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-48156597713228609982020-08-28T14:06:00.005-07:002020-08-28T14:10:43.346-07:00Why "Dark Blue Kiss" is a superior BL Drama?<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">BL fans by now have gulped down a bazillion BL dramas, the credit goes to the lock-downs obviously. That goes without saying that I have been doing the very same. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzT7SFbGZbRi0nGFZXHpIL0-iMCv6VElxRlIkhnhJ2-AJGN5BuqzDa6zbwyrE_dEQlTl5KL-VKopXmFE0vKtBluiSPG6DmLaXxs3s0_5bi8IYkjKnvS9uzmYrrWC5wgFYF2vdCnTRjsVU/s1080/Dark+Blue+Kiss.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1080" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzT7SFbGZbRi0nGFZXHpIL0-iMCv6VElxRlIkhnhJ2-AJGN5BuqzDa6zbwyrE_dEQlTl5KL-VKopXmFE0vKtBluiSPG6DmLaXxs3s0_5bi8IYkjKnvS9uzmYrrWC5wgFYF2vdCnTRjsVU/w640-h640/Dark+Blue+Kiss.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Dark Blue Kiss is the 3rd part of the Kiss Series (Is that what it is called? No clue!). I haven't seen the first or the second installment. However I did watch the 3-part compilation of PeteKao cuts which had been uploaded by GmmTV on their YouTube channel only. I had some problem understanding the characters in general (especially the ones who've been around since part 1) but story on it's own seemed okay.</div></span><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">Pete (Tay Tawan) and Kao (New Thitipoom) had already started dating in Kiss Me Again with Pete's dad's blessings. DBK has covered it all. The characters are as understanding as they can be but they got their limits too and I'm talking both sides. Both parties of the couples have equal footing.</span></li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Actors have done a very good job</b> - Tay as Pete, a rich brat with little understanding of money or zero tolerance for nonsense or New as Kao who needs to work very hard to fend for his family are a major contrast but their chemistry is so good and not superficial. Each has a point or two they like about the other and they try to adjust their mighty best. </span><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">AJ who played Non was so good that I legit wanted to slap him like a mosquito if you get what I mean.</span> </li></ul><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><span></span></span><ul><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Right Amount of Skinship</b> - BL Dramas with the right amount of skinship and at the right time is a perfect recipe for a darn good time. Not only is the wait for the scenes tense but the moment the scene drops in on us, It is heart-fluttering.</span></li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Build Up was Amazing</b> - The story build up till the last episode was so good. I knew that when the taps would burst there'll be water everywhere. It lived up to it. Kao was in shambles and I was crying buckets for him. Even so, I knew that he was in a fix which was somehow the consequences of his own decisions in addition to a sh*t Non.</span></li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Camera Work and Editing is Commendable</b> - The whole Anniversary scene was beautiful. The underwater kiss bought me. </span><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">But what really made me so emotional was the scene where Sun is winning and Mork is getting beaten up, simultaneously. The moment when Sun lifted the Barista Award was the very moment that Mork's award to Sun for the Most Annoying Barista was being destroyed and I was in tears. </span></li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Female Characters actually moved the plot forward</b> - Sandee and Kitty are two women I'll forever worship in the BL Land. Also I'll beg to lord for more of those. While Sandee tried her best to beat some sense into Pete-Kao, Kitty was there for Sun to help him realize what he wants.</span></li></ul><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Parent Factor</b> - While Pete's father was declared the new President of the PeteKao Ship Fandom, Kao's mom wasn't that far off. With Non's father in the picture, the comparison between the three was so clear, it set the standard for a New Generation Parent. For Starters -<b>Trust your child, believe in them and be there for them.</b></span></li></ul><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Full Circle -</b> The very fact that they teased us in the first episode and then bring it full circle in a later episode, putting the whole story together, was so good.<b> </b> I was so scared and worried about what Pete would say in response to "What am I to you?".</span></li></ul><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>The Opening Music</b> - I have heard some marvelous opening tracks for several Thai shows but this one take the prize. Not only was it so interesting, it made me feel like I was watching some heavy melodrama with mistresses and sh*t-loads of angst. Not once did I skip the opening music.</span></li></ul><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b>They actually do what they claim they are doing</b> - Kao really tutors. Sun actually brews coffee. Mork really picks fights and sells pastries as a side-job. Pete actually does swimming as a hobby like a rich guy (There is no explanation however, as to why he doesn't do it at his own place? Bruh, got too much money to splurge?). They actually do About Aboyz activities. They really did activities in the boot camp. Need I say more?</span></li></ul><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">Personally, I think that if you want a deeper understanding of the characters you may want to watch Kiss Me Again. The 3-part compilation only covers Pete-Kao scenes. For better understanding of Sun-Mork, Rain and the "Cool Gang" you should pick up the part 2 as well.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">Dark Blue Kiss is a recommended watch and it's entirely available on YouTube channel of GmmTV.<br /></span><br /></div><p></p>Bhagoramahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16339182243605533037noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-86457812429502334302020-08-17T04:32:00.002-07:002020-08-18T01:53:49.760-07:00It's Okay Not to be Okay- a perfect combination of Literature and Psychology- Why you should watch it<div class="separator"><div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img alt="It's Okay to Not Be Okay - Wikipedia" src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/58/It%27s_Okay_to_Not_Be_Okay_Poster.jpg" /></div></div><div><span style="color: #cc0000;"><b><br /></b></span></div><div><span style="color: #cc0000;"><b>*SPOILERS AHEAD*</b></span></div><div><br /></div>Korean dramas have become popular worldwide, thanks to Netflix and many more OTT sites that show Korean dramas in various languages. But one drama certainly took the world under a storm- It's Okay Not to be Okay. <div><br /></div><div>I was personally surprised by the number of people watching the drama. Hospital Playlist also became popular, but not like this one. But what made it so popular? </div><div><br /></div><div>I know Kim Soo Hyun is obviously one of the reasons that the drama became popular, but I don't think it is the only reason.</div><div><br /></div><div>This drama is a perfect blend of Psychology and Literature and not some very complicated literature but very simple pieces of literature that is popular in all countries and if not the same, then a modified version of these stories are popular- fairy-tales. There are many dramas that use pieces of fiction in their stories- but then we have to put in the effort to research about the books if we haven't read them or heard about them. We did not need to put that effort here- we all know stories of 'Boy who cried Wolf', or 'The Beauty and The Beast'. The story- you can say that- is a mix of these stories and how the characters of the drama have been given the characteristics of the fairy tales. Best example of this is how Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji)'s character is similar to Rapunzel- trapped in a house, controlled by her mother, also the part of her cutting her hair.</div><div><br /></div><div>The writers give us a new outlook to these fairy tales and then they have their own set of children's books- through which Go Moon Young narrates her traumas in life- giving a new outlook to children's books. It is not always that they are childish or have funny stories. Sometimes they discuss serious stuff.</div><div><br /></div><div>Other than that the way It's Okay not to be Okay normalizes everything about all sorts of mental illnesses and it tells us how it is normal and it is okay to have those problems, because after all we are human beings. No character in this drama is perfect. All have their own flaws and the people around them accept them as it is. They are just beside them- helping them and listening to their troubles and this is one of the most beautiful parts of the drama. They are given the time, space and the freedom to open up and share their feelings. Initially I did not like the concept of the hospital. I was like why is it here- apart from giving Moon Gang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun) a place to work in. But then as the drama unfolds- I see the role the patients play in the drama. They individually open up and recover- giving the characters hope that they can do it as well- get over their traumas and live well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Then comes the part where Literature and Psychology come together. Not only Go Moon Young expresses herself via her stories and Moon Sang Tae (Oh Jung Se), being autistic relates to the art and the stories in much more deeper levels- we see how these stories come together to individually narrate the stories of their lives. Not only that- each episode of the drama is named after a fairy tale- so we can kinda assume and relate what the episode is about. You are involved in the drama not only as an audience- you are putting your thoughts and views together to make sense of the narrative. </div><div><br /></div><div>The ending has been the best. There are many Korean dramas who have the habit of rushing the endings, but here in the end every character becomes free from all the bounds they were tied to. Moon Sang Tae becomes independent- making his brother free from his responsibilities that he had been given as a child because of which he could not live his life freely. Go Moon Young is free from all shackles that her emotionless, psychopath mother had tied her to. Moon Gang Tae is now free to what he wants to do and get over the guilt of having the thoughts of not wanting his brother. He is free to live the way he wants with Go Moon Young. This has been one of the best ending in a drama I have seen in years.</div><div><br /></div><div>Most people watching this drama will end up relating with one or more characters in the drama. And hence you immediately form a connection. The drama is well researched as well. The tips that are shown here actually work. There could be no one better than Seo Ye Ji playing the role of Go Moon Young- her voice being so deep and beautiful. Kim Soo Hyun makes me cry even before he starts crying. And I got no words to say to Oh Jung Se. His caliber to act is beyond the skies. I have never seen anyone this versatile. </div><div><br /></div><div>I initially thought that the drama was overrated- but then I understood why everyone was loving it. The drama, overall, is a masterpiece. From the music, acting, stories, and the beautiful animation and art- everything is on point. Even the story keeps you engaged- with mystery added. And lastly- the drama has plenty of emotional scenes- I have pretty much cried in every episode. But it doesn't let you dwell over it. You cry, you get over it by the next scene which is usually something funny and carry-forward with the story. I find it a good thing- because I have the habit of dwelling over things that make me sad.</div><div><br /></div><div>Lastly, I would give kudos to Seo Ye Ji's costume- designer, the locations where the drama has been shot in, the guest actors who were the patients in the hospital and the mesmerizing kiss scenes between the leads. </div><div><br /></div><div>This drama is a must- watch. Do not even think of brooding over it- whether it is worth a watch or not- because it demands to be seen.</div>Ronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08194007791727286104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-33727807693565673902020-07-23T12:39:00.001-07:002020-07-23T12:39:45.912-07:00Drama Review- Where your Eyes Linger<div class="separator"><div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img alt="Where Your Eyes Linger': The next drama you absolutely must see ..." height="672" src="https://filmdaily.co/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/where-your-eyes-linger-lede.jpg" width="419" /></div></div>I guess by now everyone knows that I am a Kpop and a Kdrama trash who has also recently turned into a Bl trash( actually not recently but now I kinda watch Bl all the time). Therefore there is no way I am going to miss out on watching and then reviewing the first official Korean Bl web-drama.<div><br /></div><div>Where Your Eyes Linger is about two high school boys- Han Tae Joo(Han Gi Chan) and Gang Gook (Jang Eui Soo) are best friends. Han Tae Joo is a successor to a big company TB Group and Gang Gook is like his unofficial bodyguard- he is trained in different martial- arts and is physically very strong. They live together. </div><div>None of them are sure how they feel till Hye Mi (Choi Gyu Ri) joins their school and asks Gang Gook out on a date. Han Tae Joo is immediately jealous and hence his true feelings start showing.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><font color="#ff0000">Spoilers ahead!</font></b></div><div><b><font color="#ff0000"><br /></font></b></div><div>For a mainstream Bl drama being made for the first time- it was a pretty good watch. The story is short and to the point. Each episode is of only 10 minutes and it always ends with a cliffhanger which will keep you hooked. </div><div>What I loved the most was the acting and the camerawork. The chemistry between them is great and it keeps you on your toes. You never know what is Han Tae Joo upto- he is like this free wind outside, but equally complicated inside. Gang Gook on the other hand, is just confused. He is attracted to Han Tae Joo and he gets easily turned on when he unknowingly flirts, but then also accepts Hye Mi's proposal when she asks him on a date. The characters have a lot of depth. </div><div><br /></div><div>I have always had this little complain about Thai Bls that their camera-work is not that good. But here, I have got no such complains.</div><div>It is mainly the chemistry that pushes the story forward and nothing else. There is no physical romance, just some fight scenes and them being really close to each other sometimes. But it doesn't feel like anything is missing.</div><div><br /></div><div>If there is anything I did not like about the drama- firstly- it was too short. I know it is a web drama, but I really wished it could have been longer. Secondly- well, it is my personal opinion- but it would have been better if someone else would have been casted instead of Jang Eui Soo. It wasn't his bad acting or anything, it was just he looked a bit old to be a high- schooler. In real life he is 30 years old and honestly, it showed. Other than this, I got no complains.</div><div><br /></div><div>It is a really good and short watch. It is good for people who are just starting to watch Bl shows- as there is not much 'skinship' and it can be enjoyed. Other than that it won't take up too much of your time. It is of course worth a shot.</div><div><br /></div>Ronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08194007791727286104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-42141624881795682432020-07-04T12:16:00.000-07:002020-07-04T12:18:04.157-07:00Best of June comebacks 2020<div style="text-align: justify;">I know this year has been a really bad year. Looking at the sad events that are going on one after the other- it is Kpop and Kdrama that has been kept me going. June was such a wholesome month- with so many solo and group artists making comebacks. I could not resist myself from making another list of songs for this month.</div><span></span><div><div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #d52c1f;">(Disclaimer- This list is my personal list and there is no order in it. I am sorry if I missed out on any song)</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Twice- More n More</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">JYP Entertainment is pretty much ruling this month, with almost all their active groups making a comeback this year. So we have Twice coming back with More n More on June 1st itself. It is the perfect summer song with an upbeat tune and easy dance steps. Also please listen to their B-side tracks as well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mH0_XpSHkZo" width="320" youtube-src-id="mH0_XpSHkZo"></iframe></div><div><br /></div><div><b><font color="#3367d6"><br /></font></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><font color="#3367d6">Stray Kids- God's Menu</font></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Stary Kids, another group from JYP cameback with God's Menu- a mix of rap, vocals and dance. The MV is of out- of- the- world quality and once again they have slayed this comeback. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TQTlCHxyuu8" width="320" youtube-src-id="TQTlCHxyuu8"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Nature- Girls</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Nature is a new group I got introduced to this month. Their track has a very dark themed MV and they have slayed this comeback with their addicting tunes and dance.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IRUNTOqCmAM" width="320" youtube-src-id="IRUNTOqCmAM"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b><br /></b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>IZ*ONE- Secret Story of Swan</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The track has the ability to give you goosebumps- not once but every time you listen to it. Same was the dance- it leaves you speechless. I was not very impressed by the MV though. You can check out their Studio Choom version instead.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fXSXUKXuqu8" width="320" youtube-src-id="fXSXUKXuqu8"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Seventeen- Left and Right</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Talk about amazing Instagram challenges. Seventeen came back with album Henggarae and title track Left and Right- an upbeat song with an even more upbeat and hyping up dance. It has a quirky MV (just like my boys are) and the song has a really good message as well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HdZdxocqzq4" width="320" youtube-src-id="HdZdxocqzq4"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b><br /></b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Sunmi- Pporappippam</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Sunmi also made a comeback this month with a beautiful synth-pop track. The dance is cute, Sunmi looks stylish and her back-up dancers have, as usual, supported her so well. You don't know who to look at- Sunmi or her back-up dancers. Anyways- enjoy the song and the MV.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/H8YW1tlsmE8" width="320" youtube-src-id="H8YW1tlsmE8"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b><br /></b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Hwasa- Maria</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I am not a fan of the type of songs Mamamoo makes, but Hwasa's new track grew on me. Once again, backed up with handsome and beautiful back-up dancers, Hwasa's new track has a very addicting tune to it. Unlike the above songs- it is more mello and has Salsa vibes to it. (I could not link the MV)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zodq4GrJxKM" width="320" youtube-src-id="zodq4GrJxKM"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b><br /></b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>WJSN- Butterfly</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">WJSN cameback with Butterfly- a really colourful and soulful MV. I loved the music video and how balanced the song was. As much as I loved the colour-scheme in the MV, I loved how pretty the members looked.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ftyLwZ68LnU" width="320" youtube-src-id="ftyLwZ68LnU"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Woodz- Love Me Harder</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Woodz- a member of UNIQ and a former member of X1 made a solo comeback with Love Me Harder. The song has a really sensual feel to it and well, I became a fan of him after this track.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HaqhQs5lBWE" width="320" youtube-src-id="HaqhQs5lBWE"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Victon- Mayday</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Victon has been rocking the Kpop scene lately. I have just gotten into them and I ended up checking out so many of their MVs and songs, and suddenly they make a comeback with Mayday. I got hooked to it immediately. Not only the song is addicting, the song has a really deep message as well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PMLPefdwM00" width="320" youtube-src-id="PMLPefdwM00"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Golden Child- OMG</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">GolCha's improvement has been drastic and I love it that now they are popular. So here comes another beautiful track from them.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7lE0CfsOOUs" width="320" youtube-src-id="7lE0CfsOOUs"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>AB6ix- The Answer</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Woong leaving AB6ix was really sad, but then they did comeback with the rest of the four members. This comeback we can't help but miss him, but let's keep supporting our boys. The track is a total bop, so enjoy.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/a8fy2N6hQCA" width="320" youtube-src-id="a8fy2N6hQCA"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>Bang Ye Dam- Wayo</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It will be wrong if I miss out on this amazing ballad which has been on repeat since it has released. If you are an old kpop fan, you will know our boy Bang Ye Dam. I am honestly waiting for Treasure's official debut, but till then Ye Dam has kept us entertained with his honey vocals.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/k-U9YOXG4Qg" width="320" youtube-src-id="k-U9YOXG4Qg"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><b><font color="#7b1fa2"><br /></font></b></i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><b><font color="#7b1fa2">Special Mentions-</font></b></i></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have two special mentions for this month.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>WayV- Turn Back Time</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Although not Kpop- WayV had a comeback with the song Turn Back Time. And I have to say, I was fangirling throughout the MV- be it because of Ten's dance and vocals or Lucas's body and rap. It is one of my favorite tracks for this month. Their album also has really good songs so please check out the B-side tracks as well.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eUCVRF6hjSQ" width="320" youtube-src-id="eUCVRF6hjSQ"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b><br /></b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><font color="#3367d6"><b>NiziU- Make You Happy</b></font></div><div style="text-align: justify;">JYP's new Japanese group NiziU came back with a new pre-debut project. We are slogging hard in front of our laptops and mobiles, and probably working more hours than we would have worked if we went to our work-place. Amidst all of this, I ended up watching two amazing dramas- Hospital Playlist and The Sound of My Heart.<div><br /></div><div>The Sound of My Heart is a comedy, narrating the life of a webtoon artist Jo Suk (Lee Kwangsoo) and his family and girlfriend and then wife Ae Bong (Jung So Min).</div><div><br /></div><div>I don't usually watch comedy- be it movies of dramas. I ended up watching a scene of this drama in Facebook, after actor Kim Dae Myung became famous and it was hilarious. I had been told to watch the drama a lot of times, but I never cared to watch it back then. Now that I finally watched, I was only left wondering why hadn't I watched it before.</div><div><br /></div><div>We all know how good Lee Kwang-soo is as an actor and him being paired with Jung So Min is probably the best thing ever. It is a mix of slapstick comedy and funny dialogues. Although silly, it doesn't even feel like that, thanks to Kwangsoo's acting. Nothing in the drama feels unnecessary nor out of place- it has been blended so well. There are some scenes that are hilarious- it will leave you rolling with laughter and your stomach hurting. </div><div><br /></div><div>Also, the actors who play his parents and brother are veterans, of course, and have done a great job. I cannot The drama has a bonus factor- various cameos. There are cameos by Jeon Hyun Moo, Jung Joon Young, and even Song Joong Ki. Also it ends on a very sweet note- giving us a very important message about life.</div><div><br /></div><div>Honestly, I don't have much to say except that it is a MUST, MUST WATCH. On a tiring day, there is nothing better than enjoying a drama like this. </div>Ronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08194007791727286104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7346342115535360005.post-40932307477456459152020-06-12T12:40:00.003-07:002020-06-12T12:46:31.108-07:00Movie Discussion- Axone<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

I had seen the trailer of the movie last year- around September. It was a really funny trailer. I thought the movie would be a funny watch, with satire, of course. But I was wrong.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
We as Indians are aware how the North- Easterns are treated in India. Most of them treat them really well, but again, in many places they discriminated- recently being when the Corona virus spread started in India. Many North-East people were not allowed in places and they were abused- as they look similar to Chinese. This is when this movie comes in.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Upasana (Sayani Gupta) and Chanbi (Lin Laishram) want to make Axone- a north- eastern dish which is made from fermented Soy Bean paste. It is for their friend Minam, who is settled in Delhi, for her IAS exams and interview. She is going to get married, and all her friends- have decided to surprise her.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The struggle starts from the beginning itself. The protagonists are going all the way to some house above a building, closed tightly. Also, as our characters enter the room, the guy has to explain who the other people with him- as if they are dealing with drugs. But no- they were just there to buy Akhone and some smoked pork. After that starts a saga of struggle just to cook the dish. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First they lie to their neighbours, wait for them to leave the building. They then lie to the landlady about what they are going to cook. The landlady's grandson, Shiv, a friendly boy who is willing to help his neighbours in the whole process- in one condition- that they get him a north- east girlfriend. But he is the only one who is genuinely ready to help them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But the struggle does not end there. The gas gets over, the dish's smell is all over the place. The neighbours start behaving rudely to them- asking them not to make such a dish, they are just bearing with their tantrums- this and that. You can literally see the characters now totally frustrated. They think they can still do some arrangement- but well, it doesn't happen and they give up on the dish. But did they actually give up?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Axone- the dish- represents the oppression and the struggle most North- East Indians have to face in India. They think they can make a few adjustments and still go on- just like our characters do it in the beginning. Everyone is already tired- they are at the tipping point of giving up everything- but they are still clinging onto it. They want to be accepted- just like how they really want to cook the dish.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the end- after all the heat and sweat- the characters are seen to be accepted. When they come out wearing their traditional dresses, the other neighbours make fun of them- but it is the landlady, who shoos them away. Also, we see how the characters are uncomfortable with Shiv- the landlady's grandson- constantly being irritated with his presence in the group- treated like an extra- but then even he is accepted. Everyone finally enjoys Minam's wedding.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
People in the movie constantly make derogatory comments on these people- being eve-teased and called <i>Malai</i>, <i>Sab ek jaise dikhte hai</i> (everyone looks the same) and <i>Iske to aankhe bhi poori nai khulti hogi</i> (his eyes probably doesn't even open fully)- without any reason at all. Hiryona is looked suspiciously at by an on-looker who sits outside his shop- as to what is he upto.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are scenes which make you speechless. One of the characters- Bendang- his scene starts with him trying to sing Uthe Sab Ke Kadam, but he cannot. He doesn't want to. We realize, later in the movie- that he has been the most affected- being a victim of mob- violence; just because of his hair. But he manages to sing the song, slowly, making mistakes- but he sings it. That moment made me cry.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Director Nicholas Khargaonkar, being a part of the very neighbourhood, living in Delhi and facing the same discrimination has made a perfect film. Nothing feels out of place- the story makes you laugh, cry and curious as to what is going to happen- all at the same time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The experience of watching the movie- was worth all the excitement I had kept bottled up for all these months. It was a really, really good watch. I liked a Hindi- language film after a really long time and I am glad I loved it so much.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can watch this movie on Netflix.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The award for <b><span style="color: #d52c1f;">the- most- promising- series- but- it- just- went- downhill- at- the- end</span></b> goes to <span style="color: #0b8043;"><b>2GETHER -THE SERIES</b></span>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So the saga of 2gether- the series started on 21st February 2020, when the Covid-19 had just hit our country (I am from India btw). It wasn't that serious. I was already watching Turn Left Turn Right on GMM TV's official Youtube channel (Nanon and Singto in one series- IFKR) when this started. I decided to give it a watch- it is a BL anyways. I would have watched it sooner or later.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #d52c1f;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #d52c1f;">SPOILERS </span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #d52c1f;">FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #d52c1f;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tine (Win Metawin) was a straight guy who was being pursued by Green (Korawit Boonsari). To get rid of Green Tine wanted to get into a fake relationship with Sarawat (Bright Vachirawit), who is the Mr. Popular of the college- plays football and is also a part of the music club. Tine chases him for a while- while Sarawat ignores him, till Sarawat agrees. No one knows when and how it will end.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have divided the drama into 4 phases- </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The 1st phase</b>- The start was nice. What mainly caught my attention was how it was different from most BLs that I had watched. It did not have Hate changed to Love story and it was very funny. The 2nd and 3rd ep was a little weird but then ship had already sailed and I was on it. It had a fresh storyline. The drama was really silly and naturally funny. Although the way women have been shown in the drama was problematic. Tine is hella adorable in the first few episodes- trying all attempts to make Sarawat fall for him. Sarawat also flirts with Tine, but Tine thinks he is faking it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2nd Phase-</b> Now we clearly know that Sarawat has feelings for Tine. Sarawat gets jealous of Tine trying to woo Pear. Also Tine develops feelings for Wat- because then he gets jealous of Wat's popularity. Things take a major turn when Sarawat confessed that he knew Tine way before he had joined the college and he had always liked Tine. Taking into consideration that Tine is straight and also this is the first time he is being taken care of- Sarawat gives him the space and time to accept him. This was clearly the sweetest phase in the drama- so relatable and so well made. I was falling for Sarawat's character deeper and deeper and Tine was sweet as ever. Also we are introduced to Mil (Drake) and Sarawat's brother Phukong (Frank) having a crush on Mil. Here enters ship 3 as well with Wat's bestie- Man (Mike) and Tine's elder brother Type (TopTap). <span style="color: #7b1fa2;"><b>BONUS- Look forward to scenes of Wat obsessing over Tine's boobs. </b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Then starts the 3rd phase</b> where Sarawat doesn't leave a single opportunity to flirt with Tine. He goes all out- whether it is flirting with him or taking care of him. There is added drama here- the usual- where Wat gets into fights and then Tine faints and all that cliched stuff. We also get to know that although Phukong has a crush on Mil- Mil likes Tine and so he starts fighting with Wat. Wat of course is protective of Tine. There are other revelations like Green's boyfriend is P'Dim- who is their senior and he was just chasing Tine to make Dim jealous. Anyways, now Tine and Wat are officially dating. Till now the drama was almost similar to the novel on which it is based on. Here something different from the novel is introduced- where they all go camping and Wat expresses his real feelings for Tine. Tine is also smitten by Wat's sincerity towards him. Mil also sees how serious Wat is and gives up on Tine with a warning- that he will take proper care of him. Other than all this- Man is trying to get closer to Type now- with his little antics- which are hella adorable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>FINALLY THE PHASE 4 AND <span style="color: #d52c1f;">THE MOST FRUSTRATING PART OF THE WHOLE DRAMA-</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Phase 4 starts with them coming back from the camp. Suddenly we are introduced to Pam- Sarawat's apparent high school crush. Pam has come to meet Sarawat and take music lessons from him so that she can enter the music major in their university. From here starts a saga of Tine getting insecure about the whole relationship- which mainly starts from Wat not being able to send Pam away from him and doing whatever she says. Tine starts comparing himself to Pam and his friends add fuel to the fire- by giving him other ideas about first love and second love. Finally we get Win's best performance in the drama with his character getting insecure to another level.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Wat on the other hand does literally <b>NOTHING</b>. He just listens to Pam- does everything what she says. He is acting really weird now- apparently this was how his character was written. All the sincerity which we saw in Bright's character in the start- not there. Bright's acting takes a downfall. The character shows that he cares, but the acting is so half- hearted, it doesn't even look convincing. Finally the most predictable scene happens. Tine catches Pam hugging Wat. Tine just leaves the scene. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Type and Man were also going pretty well, but then Man is belittled by Type's boss to be poor and Type does nothing to help Man. Still their story blossoms pretty well. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tine is running away, when he crashes into Mil and immediately a sick Tine becomes worse. Mil is just taking him to the hospital when Wat comes and once again creates a scene- <b>USELESSLY</b>. Mil fights and takes him to the hospital. <b>SARAWAT DOESN'T GO AFTER THEM</b>- like<b> WHAT??</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Okay fine Wat did not go that night. The boy is not seen in the morning either. Sarawat comes to the hospital when Tine is discharged, after MIL was there with him. <b>BOY, I WAS PISSED AT THIS</b>. Like if the one I love was in the hospital- I would by all means be THERE- WITH HIM/HER.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
By this time, I had lost all my patience with the story and was just watching it because of Man and Type- who got their deserved ending. (Thankfully).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They just pull the usual with Wat and Tine- at this point- Tine thinking about breaking up with Wat. when he comes across a pendrive which tells Tine to come for the concert their college has held. Wat sings a confession song and the two end up together with the promise of trusting each other always!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And that is it! <b>A literal Disappointment with whatever they did in the end.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Things I liked about the drama-</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #3367d6;">1. The story in the beginning</span></b>- It was nice in the start. I kinda forced people to start watching it because it was sooo cute and adorable- not knowing they would do this to the ending.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Win's acting-</b> I forgot for a while that this was Win's first drama. His acting was so natural- whether they were the funny scenes in the start or the sad scenes in the end. The boy even fell sick so well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #3367d6;">3. Bright's acting</span>-</b> It was really good in the start. He did not do well in the ending- being various dramas old. But I am glad- he is popular now. (He is really handsome after all...)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #3367d6;">4. The chemistry</span></b>- I would rate this drama a BL for new BL fans- who have just got into BL and don't want to see anything steamy- as of yet. It is one of the most straight BL that I have seen- with only pecks on lips for kiss scenes and sweet cuddly moments between the guys. Wat obsessing over Tine's boobs is hella adorable. Like the face Bright makes- it is the best. You will love them together.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #3367d6;"><b>5. OSTs</b></span>- I have been to listening to some popular Thai singers now- artists like Boy Songbop and Getsunova. Scrubb- a soft rock band- have shared their tracks for the drama- and it is the best thing ever. Their songs are beautiful, with really nice lyrics. Other than that- Bright has sung two songs for the drama which are also very nice. Dramas with good music is always appreciated- because it just increases what you are feeling.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #3367d6;">6. Man and Type's ending</span></b>- Their ending was nice and very satisfactory.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #b51200;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #b51200;">Things I hated about the drama- </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #3367d6;"><b>1. Everything that happened after they came back from the camp</b></span>- It just became like any other BL that I have been seeing since I have been seeing BLs. Also the extra added drama- which was literally not required. It would have been better if they would have just followed the novel for Pam's character- at least there it is well written. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: #3367d6;">2. Bright's acting towards the end</span></b>- Bright's portrayal of Sarawat did not seem like Sarawat anymore. It was as if I was seeing just him doing something on screen.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #3367d6;"><b>3. Bringing Phukong and Mil together</b></span>- Another forceful couple just brought together for the sake of the drama. It was like since Mil did not get Tine- let us just give him to Phukong. Another thing that was just not required. They could have just parted ways or they could have been acquaintances. It was rushed as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
P.S- I love the opening intro of the drama. Those facebook edits of the intro song was so creative and nice. I loved it.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB4uN1ryB3YZs7iNLyl6FOjLKlFKXYtGOecwU60c_HxynUDcKFAuzxZU2gilUGBXcj73EQrQlUHbEiNWrD4dU8ptsFwB6ad2GhCX9NJ6XSh5ukXC5X1rh9GX3TrGRs6ZlvIjYInJAAu9g/s1600/Untitled+design.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="1600" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB4uN1ryB3YZs7iNLyl6FOjLKlFKXYtGOecwU60c_HxynUDcKFAuzxZU2gilUGBXcj73EQrQlUHbEiNWrD4dU8ptsFwB6ad2GhCX9NJ6XSh5ukXC5X1rh9GX3TrGRs6ZlvIjYInJAAu9g/s640/Untitled+design.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">[Some or all of the mentioned points may be present in one or more dramas. This list is specific to Thai BL dramas only.]</span></div>
<ol>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">College set up – so students can do all the
things that they do when they are not minors anymore and they don’t need to
study all the time cause pfft who studies in college, right? No. We see the
characters just hanging around, doing things to move the plot forward. Most
importantly it is okay that the skinship level elevates to make-out and beyond
for they are adults, right? (Who gonna watch if not for some shirtless,
exposure scenes? Count me in)</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">A best friend who is a wingman- I have always
noted that the main characters often have a wonderful best friend who are all
allies when it comes to lead couples. Like bro was just put in the story to
help his best friend, the main character to get laid! Sometimes they may not
even have very significant role in the drama except for playing cupid for his
bestie.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Ugly female characters – no it’s not the looks.
If we go by their looks these girls may have a bunch of boys who want to date
her but where is the fun in that. She’ll instead fall for the guy who is deep
in love with the other guy only to try and break them apart. How many positive
female characters have you seen in BLs? Not many for me ya know! I’d like to
see many supportive females not the screechy ones. Spare me the drama please.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">That over popular female who is secretly (or
openly) lesbian – I like this lol. Keep it coming. No complaints.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">One of them two main guys has to be uber popular
so the partner can feel small for most of the story until he is assured by that
popular guy that he only has him in his heart XD. Let’s not talk about how the
immense female-fan following have the potential to bully this poor boy to
crisp. But no one cares about that.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Did I mention that the popular guy may be
immensely talented in nearly all fields?</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Hate to love is common everywhere. But how toxic
can it get really? Going back to the boy who treats you like shit and harms you
and who in a normal setting would not be an ideal choice?</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Rich guy poor guy. One of them guys has to be Mr
Richie Rich. How else can they impress their lover, right? Who is gonna pay for
them dates? But the poor guy must not accept those expensive gifts because
they’ll be thought of as leaches (Did I mention the society is trash?) or
because it’s burdensome. Like you expect the Rich guy to go to your local
market to buy you gifts? What?</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Don’t even start about the parents. They either
be super supportive accepting their child’s orientation like it is exam grades
or they be so against it that they’ll harass the child’s boyfriend and try to
break them apart. Even slap them with water or money for all we care about!</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">A female character introduced for confirmation
only. Ya know how many ladies have been used only so the lead guy is confirmed
that he got feelings for another guy? Like, are the ladies sexual identity
identifiers?</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The best method of bringing characters close?
Injure one of them or make them sick and then just wait and watch how they run
to care for their lovers. Works all the time.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Alcohol makes the atmosphere. This is common for
so many other dramas as well. What a few glasses of alcohol can do to
rationality? But I prefer sober minds taking decisions for skinship. Then there
is no scope for regrets.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Forcing your feelings on the other characters
until they give in is toxic. Ya hear-TOXIC!!!!</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Non-consensual skinship is TOXIC!!</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">“I am not gay but I like you” is reaching a
fever pitch already. Can we bless the writers who introduce characters who are
actually gays? Does well for me. It’s beautiful how people fall for people
instead of their genders but if the story is about guys falling for guys, I’d
like to see anyone but straight guys. Give this to me please!</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The sudden transition from a guy who likes girls
to a guy who likes the other lead guy is a tornado punched in my gut. But that
is probably me being ignorant. Does it happen that way?</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">If you are in a club do the damn activities of
the club don’t sit around looking at your lover.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Everything is well and good but then a certain
pang of angst hits you on the face with a chair towards the end.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Do not fall for your straight friend. Does you
no good until the end of the story when they suddenly start considering
reciprocating your good feelings.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">“Move in with me?” How many BL pairings you know
have moved for a good time? (Of course Mr Richie Rich gets a love lair for the
two XD)</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Lastly, did I mention how product advertisements
are shoved in the face in between them scenes? If you haven’t noticed these, go
re-watch every single BL you’ve seen till date.</span></li>
</ol>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Honestly I have a billion other things I’d like
to talk about but I’ll rest it here. Thank you for tuning in. now go and watch
a good BL and see how many of the points I mentioned above danced their way in.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">[Picture cr. - Ronroxx]</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
I've honestly given up on several good Korean drama series with 20 or lesser episodes for whatever reason that I still can't identify. However I don't seem to have a problem watching some good ass long dramas with more that 100 episodes. Am I whacked or what?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4vj6QttlKtm-DW0q_ROSs2g_fGur-4ZMkbPhThRJj_rvyZszRCmOGn8TLG6wcIVclJA572wxYxlm9Nc1c2qSNrDujFxGMNshQ4qZo895lmKNW_Zm3z2UGrLoEyiJIrVW3sK1V3GjrbCs/s1600/O5Dk3f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1107" data-original-width="740" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4vj6QttlKtm-DW0q_ROSs2g_fGur-4ZMkbPhThRJj_rvyZszRCmOGn8TLG6wcIVclJA572wxYxlm9Nc1c2qSNrDujFxGMNshQ4qZo895lmKNW_Zm3z2UGrLoEyiJIrVW3sK1V3GjrbCs/s640/O5Dk3f.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The world and it's inhabitants are going through a tough time and whilst we stay home under quarantine, we keep finding the need to distract ourselves from all the news and the statistics flooding over the media. It doesn't make it go away but it helps us hide for a while. So during this period I picked up a 106-episode-long Kdrama called, My Only One or Hanabbunin Naepyeon (literally The Only Person On My Side) starring Choi Soo Jong, Uee, Lee Jang Woo and several other actors you've surely seen one time or another.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<i>Are humans really worthy of punishing other humans for the sins they commit? Do the victim's family not deserve a say in it? </i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Is being a child of a criminal a reason enough to be damned by the society? Don't they deserve a chance at a normal societal life when it is not them who did the crime?</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Does a criminal deserve to return to the society after serving the punishment for their crimes? What scale of punishments do they deserve for their crimes anyway?</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Who can tell?</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>What boundaries can a parent surpass for their child? What lines can a child cross for their parent?</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>How do you compensate someone for their lost time? For the time they've lived hating another? For the time they've lived in pain? For the time they've lived in fear?</i><br />
<br />
<i>How much is money really worth?</i><br />
<br />
<i>What does it mean to love someone while accepting all their flaws?</i><br />
<br />
This story made me question the way of life and the meaning of real sadness and real happiness. I cannot count how many buckets of tears I've shed throughout the course of the drama but I can tell that every drop has been worth it.<br />
<br />
The drama opens to the precious happy moments of a family of young parents with a cute little baby girl. But the scene quickly changes and we see the father running to get money for his wife who is very sick. He gets the money but at the expense of another man's life. He returns to his wife and child immediately only to see her let go of her last breath before him. He is arrested and is forced to part ways with his daughter. His last wish to his brother -cum-friend - a request to raise his daughter as his own and a promise that she should never find out about her birth father and the fact that he is a murderer.<br />
<br />
27 years later, the man is released on parole for being a model prisoner and he crosses paths with his long lost daughter again. He initially decides to not appear in front of her but he stays only to protect her from the sidelines.<br />
<br />
But as his identity slowly unravels through the drama, we realize that the daughter of both the victim and the perpetrator are in fact sisters-in-law and have been living under the same roof. Things get out of hand and everyone runs to protect their "Only One".<br />
<br />
This drama has used 3 families to outline the contrast between a rich family and a poor family and the contrast between the one who needs and the one who can give to show the very nature of the human. How human can shamelessly kneel before someone when they need something and how they lose their humility when they don't need it anymore. What can happen when it is the rich person who is the one who needs? They throw money? When they don't need them anymore? They still throw money?<br />
<br />
<i>Can money honestly buy everything? Can it buy people?</i><br />
<br />
I believe that this drama is very clear with one thing - THERE IS ALWAYS RETRIBUTION WAITING FOR PEOPLE WHO DO WRONG AND THERE IS ALWAYS A REWARD FOR AN ACT OF KINDNESS.<br />
<br />
This drama is one of the best portrayals of the bond between a parent and child. The romance was also so beautiful. I loved all the couples, some more than the others. I am glad that the actors have received so much love on their home ground and beyond and I'm glad that I've watched it.<br />
<br />
This drama has good pacing and beautiful soundtrack. It will keep you on edge at several points.<br />
<br />
As I watched the drama and identified all the things that could go wrong, this drama felt like a nightmare that was slowly closing in on me until it was here and then I just waited for it to end. When the nightmare ended, the day was brighter than ever.<br />
<br />
I love the ending so much.<br />
<br />
Please watch it. This drama is available for viewing on Youtube.<br />

<br />
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;">
<img alt="File:Itaewon Class-mp1.jpg" src="http://asianwiki.com/images/c/c8/Itaewon_Class-mp1.jpg" /></div>
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;">
Itaewon Class, literally, was the most anticipated drama of this year. It was adapted from a webtoon with the same name.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: red;">(Spoiler alert)</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: red;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Park Sae Ro Yi (Park Seo Jun) is a high schooler who has just shifted to a new city and joined a new high school. On the very first day itself he stops Jang Geun Won (Ahn Bo Hyun) from bullying one of his classmates. Park Sae Ro Yi has to leave school and his father has to leave his work as Jang Geun Won turned out to be the son of Janga Pub's owner Jang Dae Hee (Yoo Jae Myung), under whom Sae Royi's father worked as well. Moving on, Sae Royi's father decides to open his own restauant. They had just started it, when Jang Geun Won ends up killing Sae Royi's father in a hit and run case. The case is not properly investigated and Sae Royi is sent to prison for attempted murder, while Jang Geun Won roams around free.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Se Royi spends his time in prison reading the biography of Jang Dae Hee and learning the art of running a pub. He spends a few years fishing in the ocean and then comes to Itaewon with the help of his love interest Oh Soo A (Kwon Nara) to start his own pub named Dan Bam.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The drama is a revenge story, with other hidden themes like racism, homophobia and ageism. It had a very good start as the trailers had just shown as that it was the story of Dan Bam, but in the first two episodes we realize how and what Dan Bam is actually made of. It wasn't just a restaurant or a pub. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All characters are very well written characters. Each of them have their own reasons to work in Dan Bam and they have their individual stories which are equally interesting. We have Ma Hyun I (Lee Joo Young) who is portrayed as a transgender character. We also have Tony (Chris Loyn) who is a black guy and is stereotyped. But all are accepted in Dan Bam and all have their own contributions towards the success of the pub. The change in the drama is brought about in the drama itself- where the characters themselves don't like them in the beginning and slowly accept them as the drama progresses.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We have a rookie actress cast as one of the leads in this drama- Kim Da Mi who plays the role of Jo Yi So- a sociopath girl who falls in love with Park Sae Ro Yi's unique personality and then decides to start working in the pub as a full time manager- giving up her college degree as she is sure that Dan Bam will be successful one day for sure.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Kim Da Mi is a wonderful actress and she has proved it once again in this project. She has shown a myriad of emotions and it doesn't seem at all that this is her first drama.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Apart from her, I also want to talk about Kim Dong Hee who for the first has played the villain in a drama. He was slightly weak in the start- but I think that was necessary for his character as he was switching from good to evil. We have only seen him high-school dramas as a sweet, chocolate boy. Seeing him in this role was very refreshing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now, coming to the story line of the drama. The drama had a great start. The first two episodes is a roller coaster ride. The story picks up brilliantly after that and remains at it's peak- till they start pulling the story a bit. Jang Dae Hee keeps throwing one after another obstacle to break Park Sae Royi and bring down his pub and then there are suddenly too many problems. It wasn't necessary. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A lot of people have been talking about the ending of the drama- which according to them is bad and disappointing. I, honestly, did not find it like that. I think the kidnapping was not necessary, but then they came a full circle with the drama. Nothing is left incomplete. The drama ends exactly where it started. All questions are answered; all plots are complete. They added a little bit of a romance which was okay- it was satisfactory.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The OSTs add a needed touch- inspiring us to be like Park Sae Royi. The music touch the correct heart-strings to bring out the maximum of feelings. Start- by Gaho- is one of the most inspiring songs I have ever heard and it matches with the theme of the drama perfectly.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I won't say that the drama is a bad drama- it was good but not it wasn't an outstanding drama. It did not stand up to the hype that was created about it. It was okay. It could have been better I guess- but it didn't do a very bad job either.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is worth giving a shot.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

Before I proceed further, I'd like to disclaim that this movie is fit for adult viewing only. Teenagers who are brimming with curiosity, keep your eyes off this movie. <br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am painfully aware that it's an old movie indeed. It came out in 2014 and I finally got the chance to watch it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Obsessed/ Human Addiction (literal translation of Inganjoongdok) is an erotic romance movie set in 1969, in a post-war era. Kim Jin Pyeong is a Colonel in the South Korean Army and has returned after fighting with valor in the Vietnam war. As we all know, there is never a clear winner in war. Everybody loses-physically or emotionally. So is the case for our main character, played by Song Seungheon. He is emotionally scarred. He suffers from PTSD and is undergoing psychiatric treatment in secret by a friend (of sorts) during the course of this movie. He is delirious and subject to dreams where he is still in the war zone. He is addicted to smoking but at times it is probably what is keeping him from going insane. He's been advised not to submit to alcohol and gradually through the course of the movie we realize why. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Alcohol can make people lose their mind. The time when they are most vulnerable to emotions and when they have the least control over themselves.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Kim Jin Pyeong, on the public front away from his secret, is admired by his superiors, subordinates and their wives. Although it is difficult to say if this admiration is free from any biasness. This movie does not fail to show us the need for superiors to be constantly kept happy. That also leads to a good look at them exploiting their authority to get things done. The main character, however, does not fancy the boot-licking concept at first neither does he like getting things done the wrong way but that is until he crosses path with a junior, a Captain of the Army, or to be exact the Captain's wife.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jin Pyeong did not have strained relations with his own wife. The point was proved with them engaging in activities to bear a long-awaited child. But his subordinate's wife, Jong Ga Heun, played by Lim Ji Yeon, started gathering his scattered interest. She is a Chinese lady. She probably felt like a breath of fresh air to him. When she came on to him with compliments, which almost sounded flirty to me (totally judging her), he doesn't waste much time to return the flirtations. Both were aware of the lines they were not supposed to cross but they did anyway.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here, I relised that Kim Jin Pyeong found a new addiction to keep himself sane. It was <i>her</i>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jong Ga Heun opens up about her lack of emotional investment in the marriage because her now-husband had abused her sexually when she was 13. They grew up under the same roof though she was a maid to the family. She expresses that this marriage alliance had increased her hatred towards him in addition to the husband's kissing up to other's asses when he found it advantageous.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Both the characters were emotionally and physically involved with each other in very vivid sex scenes. (I watched it with the mature tag in mind and all but it can still get awkward, ya know! Especially after watching them leads in other projects.). But I never felt that there was any "true" love at that point. It was more compassion for each other and the thought that each could heal themselves.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ga Heun, from time to time, decides to put an end to it though he was not willing to do the same and so she kept comng back to him. Here is where we see him doing things he despised earlier. He uses his position to send her husband away or his connections to put him in trouble so he could be away from Ga Heun, so Jin pyeong himself could be as close to her as possible.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On confrontations with her Mother-in-Law, Ga Heun decides to end it once aand for all. It's when Jin pyeong snaps in a party, celebrating his promotion to General, and let's alcohol get the best of him completely forgetting his social position and his wife's pregnancy announcement. When Gaheun's answer still doesn't change. He shoots himself in front of her, nearly dying in her arms.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Personally I believe this would've been a good point to end the movie and highlight its title. He would be dead and she would regret (or may be not) for the rest of her life. But of course the writer decided to let him live, so he could be stripped of his titles and removed dishonorably, only to die later on in the movie as an unrecognised body. Making way for the polaroid pictures clicked earlier in the movie to Ga Heun who has successfully moved forward in life, only to bawl her eyes out thinking that she could've saved him and led a love-filled life with a man who (effing) tattoed her name on his arm to show he never forgot her.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The tattoo was a BIG card displaying obsession but Gaheun's tears confuse me whether it was only obsession or it managed to become love.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The movie was a good watch. The central plot-AFFAIR- was actually well executed with an interesting amount of tension between the characters. Though I believe that nudity wasn't required as such to portray their intimacy because I felt like I was being pulled into something very private and it caused discomfort. But that is my opinion. Of course since it is an erotic romance that was like a necessity. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The sub-plots did justice in revealing the ugly nature of human, when he is given the position and the riches or when he yearns to earn the same. Also showing us the ways in which people live through their lonely and depressed days (housewives going to learn dancing on Monday mornings, and the ex-army officer practicing dancing to forget the cruelties of his past profession, etc.). It also threw light on the dual nature of humans (gossiping ladies).<br />
<br />
The music and the atmosphere (constant raining or dark settings) gave the movie a NOIR touch-with all the moral ambiguity and the fact that at that time, adultery was still a crime in South Korea.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'll recommend it to people who are on the lookout for South Korean entertainment content with a mature outlook instead of cutesy romances.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<img height="640" src="https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/drama/images/b/bc/Until_We_Meet_Again_2.png/revision/latest?cb=20191221235033" width="486" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thailand is ruling over Youtube with their BL market. I personally end up watching most BLs that are released as they are easy to watch. The channels release the episodes in their official Youtube channels with English subtitles. Until We Meet Again, is one such series which I got to know from a lot of BL watchers. The excitement for this drama was at a different level in the BL fanclub and hence I ended up watching it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Korn (Nine Noppakao) and InTouch (Earth Katsamonnat) fall in love with each other at a time when homosexuality was unacceptable in the Thai society. Korn wasn't much of an extrovert and also people stayed away from him because they were scared of him. InTouch was the first one to approach him and as he opened Korn's heart, they fell in love. The fathers of the two boys get to know about it and they are dead against it. In an effort to separate the two boys- the parents use all means possible till Korn has no choice but to shoot himself with his father's gun followed by InTouch who cannot imagine a world without Korn.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thirty years later, Pharm (Fluke Natouch) has just joined T- University. The boy has been dreaming of people he doesn't know and is haunted by their tragic deaths. He is scared of loud noises and also has a birth mark on his temple. He has been searching for someone. Similarly Dean (Ohm Thitiwat), a senior and the leader of the Swimming Club, in the same university- has been dreaming of the unknown people and has been always looking for someone. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The red thread of fate work on them, and they end up finally meeting with each other and falling in love. Together they solve the dreams the both had always had and prove a love that is timeless.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is the best BL I have seen- honestly even better SOTUS. I can give a full score to everything in this drama- the story, the plot, the acting, the music and even the comic timing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First let me start with our boy Fluke Natouch. The boy is the most precious BL character I have seen. A fact- he plays the younger one in the drama but is actually a year older to Ohm. His acting was on point- he is crying in almost the whole drama, but even before you realize- there are tears in your eyes. Also I loved how his character is written. He is shown to be a little vulnerable- like the weak one, who needs to be protected. But there is a scene where Dean is in a trance and he wants to make-out with Pharm. But Pharm- without a single bit of hesitation, pushes Dean away. He could have easily allowed him to make out with him- but no. And here we see the importance of consent. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other characters have been equally well written. I think no one could have played Dean's role how Ohm has played it. He is also seen as a slightly flawed character and not the perfect top. He loses himself sometimes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next I will talk about the story. I have always talked about how the stories in k-dramas amaze me, how they are so creative. This drama just proves my point that Thai dramas are nowhere behind. The story is so well written. There is nothing lacking or any sort of loopholes. The way the past and the present are tied together and then how the past affects the one in the present has been shown with utmost perfection. Very few dramas actually talk about homosexuality and how it is a taboo.How it is so difficult for the characters to convince their families to understand their point of view. We get to see that struggle here. Most BLs have a very light- hearted outlook towards it, this drama did not do that. The actual plot of the story is that- how two young people lose their lives just because the fathers were not progressive enough to accept their love. The pain the families go through after they have passed away and how it has affected the current generation- has been shown beautifully.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It would be very, very wrong if I do not talk if I do not talk about the music. The music plays a key role in bringing out the emotions of the audience and probably, the drama wouldn't have been half as effective as it is without its music. Most of the music has been made by Boy Sompob- who also has a OST to his credit in Love Sick the series. In this drama he has multiple OSTs, which are either sung by him or by the actors of the drama. There is a violin track that is played whenever the characters are sad or going through some conflict and that music just makes the tears roll out of my eyes. I am fine one second and then crying with the characters in the next moment- that was how powerful the music was.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The side couples cannot be ignored here- because Win- Team (Boeun- Prem) are going to steal your heart with their cutest ever romance that they have while they are in the swimming club. It gives a bit of relief from the heavy story-line the drama has. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If I did not like something about the drama- that would be In's character in the beginning. Usually I do not like the fact how he kinda made Korn fall for him. I would have loved it if they had fallen in love with each other naturally, and not like this. Other than that I could not find a single flaw.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Generally, Thai BLs are not liked by all. Mostly because it is two guys kissing and that is all they see. I want this drama to be seen by one and all. People have no idea what they are actually missing. I am greatly missing the drama since it has been over and there are rumors around that Boeun- Prem will be getting a spin-off, which is great because, their story of course got overshadowed by Fluke-Ohm.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
PLEASE GIVE THIS DRAMA ONE WATCH!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
February was a fabulous month for Kpop. With more than 30 groups having their comebacks and a few groups making their debut, it was a busy month for the listeners of Kpop. Groups like KARD, BTS, Pentagon, Dreamcatcher made their comebacks. Monsta X released their first all English album and iKON made their first comeback without B.I. Indeed, it was a busy month.</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hence for our readers, who are active listeners of K-pop, I have decided to choose the TOP 15 K-pop comebacks and debuts from all the comebacks that have happened. (These are my personal choices. I am sorry if I miss any song)- </div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">1. Dreamcatcher- Scream</span></b></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dreamcatcher made a comeback with the album 'Dystopia- The Tree of Language' with title track 'Scream'. It is personally one of the best comebacks Dreamcatcher has made- with a song that has blown me away.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/FKlGHHhTOsQ/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FKlGHHhTOsQ?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><b>2. BTS - ON</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
BTS cameback with ON, and earlier they came out with Black Swan. ON has two different music videos and both are great. Map of The Soul- 7 has other great tracks like Jhope's EGO and the rap line's track UGH! Check out the ON below-</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mPVDGOVjRQ0/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mPVDGOVjRQ0?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">3. KARD- Red Moon</span></b></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
KARD cameback with an addicting song and a lit music video for Red Moon. I cannot explain how brilliant J. Seph looks in this comeback. Other members are great as always. I like this track more than Dumb Litty though. B.M is doing an amazing job producing such amazing songs. </div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ZAEqQPAEkug/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZAEqQPAEkug?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">4. GFriend- Crossroads</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This is Gfriend's first comeback after they joined BigHit Label. All this while I wasn't aware that Gfriend had been creating their own little universe. The music video is a must watch. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/kx5TWKPE5sU/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kx5TWKPE5sU?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">5. Everglow- Dun Dun</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Everglow had an amazing comeback with an amazing and hella addicting song- Dun Dun. The members look too good. The only problem I found here- the line distribution was not equal and so was the screen timing- but the song is a bop.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/NoYKBAajoyo/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NoYKBAajoyo?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">6. IZ*ONE- Fiesta</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
IZ*ONE made a great comeback after all the Produce controversies with their song Fiesta. The music video is colourful, with a strong choreography and the members looking as pretty as ever. Check out their mv below-</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/eDEFolvLn0A/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eDEFolvLn0A?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">7. Pentagon- Dr. Bebe</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Pentagon cameback with the song Dr. Bebe, which honestly did not do very well in the charts but made a space in my playlist because I LOVE THE SONG. Please watch the music video and listen to it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/eMIBLloecRI/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eMIBLloecRI?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">8. MCND- Into the Ice Age</span></b></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is a latest bop by a debut group from Top Media. The song has a very hip-hop feel with an addicting choreography. Please support the group and give them a lot of love.</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/XpIG9dq1PQw/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XpIG9dq1PQw?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">9. iKON- Dive</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Although Hanbin was missing, the group did not miss out on anything. The music, the choreography, the vocals, the rapping- all are just too good. I missed iKON a lot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/brP5M0o4hi8/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/brP5M0o4hi8?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><b>10. Moonbyul- Eclipse</b></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last year had been great for Mamamoo and it seems like they are going to rock this year as well. The rapper of the group has now made a solo comeback with Eclipse.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Z4NcMnaRK_s/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Z4NcMnaRK_s?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><b>11. The Boyz- Reveal</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The Boyz made one of the best comebacks this year with Reveal. An aesthetically pleasing music video with honey vocals and crisp choreo. A comeback worth the wait.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/PugZA26sj-8/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PugZA26sj-8?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">12. Cherry Bullet- Hands Up</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I initially did not like the song much, but then the melody stayed stuck in my mind and now I pretty much love everything about the song.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/0It6vWbGOX0/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0It6vWbGOX0?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="color: blue;">13.Loona- So What</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Loona has never disappointed and so this, as usual, was a great comeback. This track is more of EDM with a mix of hip-hop. Also Lee So Man (owner of SM Entertainment) has decided to invest in them. Of course, they deserve every bit of it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/8Vto_qUIjcA/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8Vto_qUIjcA?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><b>14. Lee Daehwi- Rose, Scent, Kiss</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
AB6IX members had individual comebacks, but Daehwi's comeback, according to me was the best. The song is brilliant and it is a concept only he could have pulled off. A song about adulthood and growing up to not care about haters anymore.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/yN1_Z6bYL-k/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yN1_Z6bYL-k?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><b>15. Jeon Woong- Moondance</b></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This list would be incomplete, if I did not mention Woong- another member of AB6IX's Moondance. A sensual song with uber sensual choreography and honey vocals, is just the perfect comeback.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/8guHZbcOe0U/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8guHZbcOe0U?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: red;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: red;"><b>Special Mention-</b></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It will be wrong if I did not mention this song. Although it wasn't a proper comeback. It was just an OST, but the OST came with a separate music video and also a dance practice video. Our queen <span style="color: blue;"><b>Sunmi made a comeback with Gotta Go</b></span>- not to be confused with Chungha's song. It is a genre Sunmi had never tried before but she slayed and rocked it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/TGuiybKFbmI/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TGuiybKFbmI?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<br />
Do check out these music videos and support the groups as always!!<br />

<img alt="Image result for tharn and type" src="https://forums.soompi.com/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=https://scontent-frx5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/70382986_417183389153717_7321416774220513280_o.jpg?_nc_cat=109%26_nc_oc=AQnjsMlPY887fYP1baGhYD-Wo5yH74GfOgkdmmXeF40mcymmJqqYXfYsJnBZ8VGPcNlsEWvNTpS3jAdPb-rfzhSC%26_nc_ht=scontent-frx5-1.xx%26oh=6204ac465ba0cc7b3cd376a03552c6f8%26oe=5E609B6A&key=f0235929cfb554169215d3e9d6bfae2eb952a98c5cec8b64cb16f661398b06fa" /><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, once again, I am in the zone of binge- watching Thai dramas- especially BLs (Boy Love). I have seen a handful of them now and I am honestly in love with them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While searching for more of the latest dramas, I found out this new series called Tharn and Type which was being still uploaded on Youtube then. I had seen a few BL pages discussing about this drama, and therefore I decided to give it a watch.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tharn and Type are characters from another series called the Love By Chance. Here they have been given an individual story line.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tharn (Mew Supasit) and Type (Gulf Kanawut) are roommates, but because of a past trauma, Type is not fond of gays. His best friend Techno later tells him that his roommate is gay and from there, their story starts. Type is trying his best to get his roommate changed or at least find another room for himself, but none of the plans work and ultimately they continue to live together. You have to see the drama to know more about the two.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The drama has a very typical fanfiction type of a storyline. There is nothing very new or outstanding about the story of the drama. But there are a few things that makes the drama different and special from other BLs. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Firstly, it is very relatable. Type is a very relatable character in the drama and the problems he has to deal with are also very true to its time. Topics like PTSD, cyber- bullying, homophobia and consent have been covered.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Secondly, what I like about this drama is the chemistry. The chemistry between Mew and Gulf is out of the world. There are Thai BLs I have seen, which either do not show erotic scenes in dramas or they are made so badly, that they cross the line. But here, the thin line has been maintained. There are making out scenes which are pure guilty pleasures to watch. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I liked most of the drama, but there are things that are clearly problematic.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a scene between Tharn and Type where Tharn tries to scare Type, getting him to believe that he slept with him. I found it very, very wrong. You are not supposed to do something like this without the consent of the other person. In the show, the consequences of this action has been shown, and I am slightly glad it did, even though it was a bit painful to watch.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Rape culture- although not glorified, but it has not been shown properly either. The villain of the drama uses rape to scare one of the characters in the drama- which is wrong in sooooooooo many levels. We already have a character who suffers from the consequences of rape, and then there is another character who has been portrayed like that- but this other character, does not seem to get justice. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This Thai drama, thankfully doesn't have any annoying female character.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall the drama is a good one time watch. It isn't great. I have seen other dramas with better story lines. This drama is not so good, but it isn't a very bad drama either.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I am calling out to all the Exols (Domestic fans and International fans) about the shit that's being spewed by people who are hiding within you (pretending to be a fan) . </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Is this something that you should say to YOUR idol that has taken a decision to be happy? - QUIT EXO?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Is that really what he deserves from his fans after spending years and years of his youth into making a KPOP Career?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">What? "ONLY EXO-K SHOULD'VE BEEN FORMED?" I'm furious. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It was a shocker for Exols when Kris left and I understand the pain of a fan, an OT12 fan. Then Luhan left and then Tao. But how in the actual fuck does their decision about their OWN LIVES, affect us?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Exols kept pestering Lay after this series of happenings. Why? Did he DESERVE any of this shit? Yes okay he decides to work harder on his solo activities. How does it kill you?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">About the argument that THE IDOL DID NOT USE BIRTH CONTROL. Yes it is not a light topic and it is important to create awareness about it to avoid cases of unwanted pregnancies. BUT how can you confirm that it was a case of wilful negligence of BIRTH CONTROLS in this case? </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I believe that they have been engaged to get married (and have probably already married?!) and both are of age to know the severity of not taking proper measures while engaging in intimate activities. Are we as OUTSIDERS, QUALIFIED ENOUGH to JUDGE the happenings of their PRIVATE LIVES? </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Why should he be punished for his personal life? Why do fans feel so BETRAYED by his personal life decision. Isn't there anything wrong with this? Why should he stop being a part of EXO only because he is getting married? </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">(Doesn't it ring a bell? OH SO YOU REMEMBER LEE SUNGMIN FROM SUPER JUNIOR?) </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">DO WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CALL OURSELVES FANS WHEN ALL WE DO IS COME IN THE WAY OF THEIR HAPPINESS???????? </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Yes, Idols majorly depend on the "support of the fans" they receive but that in no way makes us superior to them. It doesn't authorise us to interfere with their personal lives or think we have a say in it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">We are WELL WISHERS . </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Let us get together and support EXO'S CHEN as he embarks on a NEW PHASE of his life Ya'all.... </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">#CHEN_DONT_QUIT_EXO</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Sincerely, </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">ANOTHER OUTSIDER, </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Who believes she is a fan.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Edit - Did I just read about Heechul apologizing to fans for dating Momo? The ridiculous nature of this occurrence will make me say some awfully harsh words. Let the man breathe for God's sake. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If you feel so affected by what your idol decides for their love life, take a tissue box and cry it out in the corner. Don't you dare touch the keyboard and type things that you will regret later.</span><br />

</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;">As all our followers would or would not be aware of- but our blog completed 5 years. And thus, I decided to start a new section in our blog for all our Indian movie and drama lovers. No- I am not going to review any Hindi or Bengali or any regional language sitcoms here- of course because the whole world is now aware how crappy they are. I would be reviewing web series and regional Indian movies which struck a major chord in my heart (or not). So here is my first Indian web drama review- Out Of Love.</span><br />
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Out of Love is a web drama that recently aired in Hotstar streaming service. It is adapted from the English series- Doctor Foster. It has been directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Aijaz Khan and stars Rasika Duggal and Purab Kohli in the lead roles.</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dr. Meera Kapoor is living a very satisfactory life with her husband Akarsh Kapoor(Purab Kohli) and their son. But one day Meera finds strands of hair which she knows is not hers and an unknown shade of lipstick. She starts suspecting her husband and every other woman who Akarsh is in contact with.</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: red;"><b><u>SPOILERS</u></b></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: red;"><b><u>(Will try my best not to give out stuff)</u></b></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have seen quite a few web series, but the title of the series is what caught my attention mainly. The title can work both ways- 'Out' of love in the sense that the person is no more in love anymore and 'out of' love- as in the person is doing whatever he or she is doing out of love and concern.</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a take in the drama that actually caught my attention- peoples' views of having an affair. Meera, Akarsh's mother, even her neighbours- all are fine with the fact that their spouses are having an affair or active sexually with other women- apart from their own marriage- and the wives and even the moms are really cool about it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This drama has a very adult and different take on married lives- it is okay if they have an affair, but they should be truthful about it, and they should know where to draw the line. There are dialogues in the drama where Akarsh is in conflict. Meera thinks that Akarsh has fallen out of love with her, but Akarsh loves both her and the other woman equally. Just because he is love with someone else, it isn't like he does not like Meera anymore.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The wives instead ask for understanding- they are ready to accept it as long as their spouses tell it to them personally instead of hiding it- and that it one thing I kinda found both a little strange but also loved it in the drama. It is very important nowadays to understand maybe that humans are not meant to be monogamous and it is fine if they get attracted to another woman or go astray.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Most of the characters are female- with only a few male characters. We get to see the bonding among them; but we also get to see how woman can be another woman's worst enemy.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming to the performances- it is what makes the drama what it is. Rasika Duggal as Dr. Meera is great. We sympathize with her when she is in pieces, getting to know the fact that her husband is having an affair. We can feel the desperation, when she is dying to know who he is having an affair with. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Purab Kohli, as Akarsh has done an amazing job as well. We can see the not-so confident and wife- dependent father and husband. Meenakshi Chaudhary as Alia has done a considerably good, this being her first drama. She can do better though.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This drama is a very interesting watch- if you are looking for something which has an adult take towards things and not just plain romance or affairs and conflicts and such. I think this drama might get a Season 2 but I am not aware of any.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://cdn2.tstatic.net/jatim/foto/bank/images/goo-hara-kara-sulli-fx-dan-jonghyun-shinee-meninggal-dunia-karena-depresi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Image result for Sulli hara jonghyun image" border="0" height="224" src="https://cdn2.tstatic.net/jatim/foto/bank/images/goo-hara-kara-sulli-fx-dan-jonghyun-shinee-meninggal-dunia-karena-depresi.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
It would be a huge lie if I would say that I was not affected by the deaths of Sulli and Hara. Kara was the first girl group I had got into when I had just started and now I will honestly not be able to get over it. I have been feeling down personally.<br />
<br />
I am an avid kpop fan- I have been into kpop for about 8 years now. This is pretty much my life (healthy or unhealthy- I don't know). I have been literally dependent on it for everything- be it ideas for essays or my projects or currently handling my class of 36 students- yes, I work as a teacher.<br />
<br />
It feels weird to say- that a few years ago before these groups and other groups disbanded, my friends and I would be discussing what would our bias be doing in future. Giving an example of it- when I was in college, a few of my seniors would discuss that what would the members of EXO do after they would disband. I always thought that Sehun can make a great model and Kai of course will go into dancing. Kyungsoo is meant to be an actor- and so on. Never did I, in all of this, even imagine- that maybe a few of my favorite artists or idols might never make it to the future. They might just.......<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
It is sad and very upsetting when something like this happens. If not kpop fans, but people who are into an idol or an artist will relate to the void that we are left with as fans- or maybe just as viewers. It is not always necessary that the person; the idol; who just passed away- was or is your bias. But the void is there- on your face. Kim Jonghyun from SHINee wasn't my bias- but we can feel the emptiness when we see SHINee as four standing on the stage- which was meant to be a place for five members. We might never see Kara or F(x) perform as a group again (or maybe we will), but that is when it is going to hit you- one member is not there. Sometimes that one Instagram post or that one variety show they appear as a guest- is enough to give you solace- that they are there, they are existing.<br />
<br />
All deaths are tragic- but I feel (and many others as well) that suicide is the worst form of death. I am an atheist, so I am not going to spew stuff about one not going to heaven and all- because I don't believe in that. But clearly it is the worst. It makes you think, how hurt, how depressed or how much that person must have suffered to make up his mind to take his or her own life.<br />
<br />
Jonghyun, Sulli and Hara- all three had been greatly popular and all three had to face a lot- literally a lot of hate from the netizens for various reasons and most of them did not even make any sense. Sulli being bullied for not wearing a bra??? (SERIOUSLY). And that was probably the worst thing that had happened to all three of them. Hara losing her friend and then her case with her ex boyfriend probably triggered a chain reaction. Currently we as fans are worried about Heechul, IU and Taeyeon.<br />
<br />
What is Korea doing about it?<br />
We don't know. Some new laws have been made after the death of Sulli, where malicious commenters and haters would be taken action upon. But is it just the case of malicious commenters? I don't think so. Netizens and the fans need to be aware that our beloved idols are also humans and they can make mistakes as well. They are not perfect- they can get into a relationship, they can get depressed. And lastly, being a kpop idol is a job after all. Currently Choi Seungcheol from Seventeen has been taking rest due to anxiety and it is normal. I am glad companies are being concerned about the mental health of their artists and now it is a necessity.<br />
<br />
It is a request to all new and old kpop fans- please try not to leave any malicious comments about the idols you don't like. If you did not like them- just discuss about it among yourself and think once in your perspective- what if something similar happened to you and people hated you for being yourself- would you be able to bear with it? Keep them to yourself and don't bother about it. Don't spread that hate.<br />
<br />
I will continue to be a kpop fan- but I have just one wish now- that in future maybe, I want such a year not to be repeated again.<br />
<br />
Lastly, all three of you have been the strongest and the hopes for a lot of people. Hope you are resting well and are at peace.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">After a long long time every single
(okay let’s say most of them) twist and turn in a drama caught me off-guard and
punched me hard straight in the guts. I can gladly say that another masterpiece
has been produced by the K-dramaland. (Even though I wonder if it’ll cater to
the tastes of the entire K-drama loving community, it will not disappoint you
in the least)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Graceful Family is a 2019 Korean
Drama that aired from 21st August to 17th October on MBN
network becoming the highest rated drama in the MBN network’s history even
before reaching half of its broadcast. Its genres: Mystery, suspense and
melodrama (I firmly believe it contains a lot more ‘ish’ than that!). <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">This appears to be the very old
Chaebol (effingly rich) family with an internal war for the hot seat of the
ultimate ruler of the group-basically the holder of both power and money-a seat
where no one can dare touch you-where people bend before you and clean up your
mess… well it is such a drama having the main focus on the internal war, only
that it is skilfully planned out by our king-maker, Han Je Guk, beautifully
played by Bae Jong Ok (nothing less expected<3). <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Though, one should forever remember
that her loyalty is towards the group and not the family or its members. She
chooses a hand to hold and she makes them what she wants to make them.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">The events unfold with a relatively
fast pacing (which keeps us at the edge of our seats or beds, don’t judge me…)
and they are so well-timed, be it in favour of our goody-goody team or the
bad-bitches team (bad-dogs?). Some revelations may be a litty-bitty predictable
but that doesn’t really hamper the viewers’ experience (or am I biased?).<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Hidden within the cover of this
rich-ass-peoples’-mind-games-plot, lies a very deep secret surrounding the
murder of the daughter-in-law of the MC Group. The case was tried in the court,
a criminal was put in jail but it was quickly buried neatly (guess by who?). </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">A
daughter returns from her 15-year-long exile to uncover the mystery at unimaginable
risk. The daughter Mo Seok Hui, played by the talented, Im Soo Hyang, is our little princess who has a twisted way of dealing with things but she's such a doll. She is
supported by a newly established lawyer, Heo Yoon Do, played by Lee Jang Woo, who
is righteous to a fault but may have hidden agendas of his own.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">As more people join hands for uncovering
the truth and more people join hands for covering it, this drama is in fact a
great battle between characters who we’ll love boundlessly and characters who
we’ll hate from the bottom of our hearts. (The tables keep turning though…) <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">This drama touches upon various (sensitive?)
topics-family relations, non-blood ties, friendship, hate, love, politics,
trust, betrayal, guilt, forgiveness, money, power, mental abuse, minority
groups, truth, lies and death. (Much more)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="line-height: 115%;">I wish that the viewers bless
their eyes with this masterpiece starring a promising cast and if I give out
any more than this it’d be a spoiler (and for majority a spoiler can destroy
their viewing experience).<o:p></o:p></span></div>

If you do not know what I am talking about- well it is not
the Superman movie, but a Korean variety show which airs on KBS2. Celebrity
fathers are left with their child or children for 48 hours, as the mothers
leave the house for 2 days. The show started airing in 2013 and it recently
completed 300 episodes.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
In this article we are going to talk about some of the
popular kids from the show and a few other kids who are a part of other
children shows in South Korea.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Daehan- Minguk and Mansae have to be talked about first. The
show did have adorable kids and funny fathers before them, but they still shine
the most. Father Song Il Kook officially has the best parenting skills for the
triplets- young parents can take note from. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
His triplets- Song Daehan-eldest, Song Minguk- the middle
one and Song Mansae- is the youngest. Their naughtiness, their father taking
them to the dentist, and then to the traditional teacher- are a few scenes to
watched for sure- but one can also binge the episodes because they have been
the most adorable from day 1. Also we have Minguk- the food fighter among the
three. They are still so popular- that the media still gives a follow-up as to
what they have been doing currently. The triplets have just graduated from elementary
school.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Choo Seunghoon’s daughter- Choo Sarang was one of the kids
who were a part of the show since day 1. Choo Seunghoon was a fool for his
daughter and the father- daughter relationship was one of the highlights.
Another food-fighter from the show- artists like Kim Heechul imitated the way
she had yogurt and bananas and how she spoke. Although they stayed in Japan,
Choo Sarang bagged some of the cutest baby commercials in Korea- and well she
got a lot of love from Korea and abroad. <o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
They are one of the longest running members of the show.
When they started, Seoun and Seojun were just 6 months old and when they left-
they were around 5 years. So we literally saw them growing up in the show. Lee
Hwijae was a new dad and we saw how he grew up to be an amazing father to his
sons- he pretty much learnt everything during the show aired- from how to take
care of the boys to how to cook. The boys also turned out to be as funny as
their comedian father. The bond between the brothers was also one of its kind.
They would fight, but at the end- they cannot live without each other.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Daebak Sian-</b></h3>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A family of 7 people- Daebak Sian is the maknae (youngest) in
the family of famous football player Lee Dong Guk. He joined the show when he
was only around 6-7 months; just learning to walk and his two sisters; who were
1 and half. He was called Daebak as a child and he had got so used to his pet
name, he had forgotten his real name- so the family decided to switch to
calling him Sian- to get him into the habit. The family is known for the funny
and silly (but successful ) pranks that the father keeps pulling on the kids
and especially on Sian. Sian grew up to a brave brother to his elder sisters.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Formal idol- a member of Sech Kies- and currently a
businessman- Go Seungjae is the son of Go Ji Yong. His mother being a doctor
and professor- the boy is extremely intelligent. He is way too active for his
age and back then- he was a talkative fluffball who would literally melt the
viewer’s hearts. He slowly grew up to becoming a overly compassionate child,
who would shed tears so easily, that even I would start crying. His love for
animals was out of the world- so much so that he would not want to eat them. As
the show progressed- he and Sian became best friends and two of them were
literal friendship goals.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
They joined the show just after the 2018 Fifa World Cup
where their father- Park Jooho- was one of the players representing South Korea. And I am so
glad that they did so. Park Naeun is the most adorable elder sister that you
can find- her being a language genius- knowing 4 languages at the age of 5-
Korean, English, German and Spanish. Her younger brother is Park Gunho- the one
with the cutest cheeks, cutest ankles and then the cutest antics that he always
has up his sleeves. Currently, he is on a babbling spree where he keeps on
babbling gibberish with hints of German and Korean. Another food fighter- the
siblings surprisingly enjoy Korean food way more than Swiss food- her mother’s
native place. <o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
They are so popular, that the show made little changes to
the format of the show- where they leave the two alone in the house to do
whatever they want to do. Also Gunho’s relationship with the cameramen is so
adorable. He sometimes depends on them more than his own parents. The family also bagged some of the biggest commercial deals in Korea- the most famous being Domino's Pizza with Park Seojun.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Sam Hammington-an Australian by birth but more of a Korean
by nature- has two adorable sons- William and Bentley, who are just a year
apart from each other. William is a responsible elder brother and Bentley is
the naughty, babbling, foodie younger brother -who have adorable fights among
themselves regarding toys and food. Sam presents himself to be an amazing
parent once again, coming up with new tactics to stop the brothers from fighting
every now and then. Bentley sometimes ends up giving the most unexpected
reactions to certain things in the show. And of course when he smiles- he
brightens up your whole day. <o:p></o:p></div>

<br /><b>Special Mentions- </b></h2>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Apart from The Return of the Superman- there is another show
going on in KBS2 which is Mr. House Husband and we have the famous idol couple
Yulhee from Laboum and Minhwan from FTIsland with their adorable 1 year old
Jjangie. Jjangie is just a super- active
child who I have hardly seen crying. His father has a hard time handling him
sometimes because he keeps running away. He is a free spirit who is
also growing up to be really smart. Soon he is going to have two more siblings.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Image result for At eighteen" height="400" src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7d/At_Eighteen-poster.jpg" width="280" /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is another High-school drama that I just started watching- out of curiosity honestly- I wasn't very disappointed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At Eighteen is the debut project of Ong Seong Woo, which also stars Kim Hyanggi, Shin Seung Ho and Kang Ki Yong.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Choi Jun Woo (Ong Seong Woo) is just like any normal eighteen year old, who gets transferred to a school in Seoul, because of a crime he did not commit, but took the blame for. Rumors have already spread in the new school about him, but he wants to just move on with his life as a teenager, without garnering much attention to himself. But then he comes across the class president Ma Hwi Young, who stirs his quiet life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: red;"><b>SPOILER ALERT..</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The drama- I would say- is like any other high school dramas- just with a much relatable, cleaner and smooth flowing story. There are many themes that are covered- as the story unfolds; which are common to other high school dramas as well- parents controlling the lives of their children, children having a hard time in order to succeed, high school romances, student- teacher relationships and so on. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But one thing I loved in this drama was a topic- that I have hardly seen touched upon in high- school dramas- <b>homosexuality</b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jung O Je (Astro's Moon Bin) is a character who is in the path of discovering his sexuality. He is forced to get into a relationship with a girl, as she confesses to him in front of the whole class. He eventually goes with a flow- till he starts getting uncomfortable- not being able to feel anything for her. Finally he opens up, due to some incident, and well- the girl and everyone around him accepts it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
According to me- it was a beautiful attempt made by the writers of the drama and this being Moon Bin's first drama as well- I think he did a very good job playing this character.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another part of the story which I love- there is no 'very' annoying female characters. There are a few characters who are made to look forcefully a bit bad- without any context or reason, but then it does not cross the line. One more factor I loved was- almost all characters grow by the time the drama ends and when I saw all characters- I mean ALL characters.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other than that- I also found the romance very appeasing, especially towards the end. They pulled it a bit, which was not necessary, but then, it wasn't very bad. The chemistry between Ong Seong Woo and Kim Hyanggi was on point- better than a few adult drama couples. Kim Hyanggi is hella adorable and cute.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming to Shin Seung Ho's character- Ma Hwi Young. Ma Hwi Young will successfully annoy the hell out of you, making you hate him to the core as a viewer- but that is just the trait of an actor playing his role at his very best. His character although bad, has reasons for it and it comes to a full circle- which felt good. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming to Ong Seung Woo's acting- I think, he could have done slightly better. He carries a poker face most of the time in the first few episodes of the drama, and then he slowly blossoms as his character does the same. He has done justice to his character, but there was still a tad bit amount of more scope. He cries very well though.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I said before, this drama is nothing very out-of-the-box drama. But then, it is a nice and a light watch- nothing very heavy. You can maybe watch this drama while you are watching other heavy dramas or you have nothing to watch. </div>

<div>
<img alt="File:Memories of the Alhambra.jpg" src="https://wiki.d-addicts.com/images/thumb/3/34/Memories_of_the_Alhambra.jpg/415px-Memories_of_the_Alhambra.jpg" /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
There is a reason why I keep watching Korean dramas- their creativity. Sometimes, the dramas do have the same type of themes again and again- like the second lead tropes, or the high school dramas. But then, some k-dramas make me so, so surprised, I honestly cannot explain it in words. Memories in the Alhambra is one such drama.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Memories in the Alhambra stars Hyun Bin and Park Shin Hye, and also Park Chanyeol (one more reason why I watched the drama). Yoo Jin Woo(Hyun Bin) is the CEO of JOne Holdings- which is a gaming company. He is contacted by Jung Se Joo (Park Chanyeol) because of a game he invented and he wishes to sell the game only to JOne Holdings. Problem arises when Jung Se Joo goes missing, and Yoo Jin leaves in search of him. He comes across Jung Hee Joo (Park Shin Hye) in the city of Granada, who is the owner of Bonita Hostel, who is also Jung Se Joo's sister, and the AR game starts from that place.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
SPOILER ALERT from here.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
AR games are games where the games scan the outside environment to produce digital objects that will reside in the real world. It generally uses all of our senses, to make it feel as real as possible. Biggest example of AR games is Pokemon Go. Memories of the Alhambra is also inspired from Pokemon Go, but of course, the producers take it to the next level. Memories in the Alhambra feels no less than a real game. There is a lens which gives the visual effects, and a ear- piece that gives the auditory effects. We see Jin Woo going on a journey, while playing the game and getting so lost in it, he forgets what is real and what is fake.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The drama is hella gripping. The gaming parts are amazingly made, fully action packed contained with mesmerizing locations from Spain. Park Shin Hye and Park Chanyeol, both speak fluent Spanish- so much so that Park Shin Hye has a argument scene which she pulls of flawlessly. I wasn't very fond of Hyun Bin before this drama though. Had seen only 2 dramas of him- them being- Secret Garden and Kim Sam Soon. But after this drama, I became a fan. There is a scene where he is majorly injured. He is in pain, and you can literally see the veins on his neck- as if he is really hurt.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If the drama lacked anything- I would say, it was the romance- which was not done properly. I did not like the parts which had romance at all. You cannot feel any chemistry between them. Plus, Park Shin Hye's character in itself is a good character, but it does not serve any purpose with Hyun Bin's character. Also, there is a episode in the drama which has been made only for the purpose of promotion of make-up and jewelry which she does for a date night. Park Chanyeol also acted really well.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another loophole that I caught in the drama- Jung Se Joo is not to be found for almost 4-5 years. He gets lost in Granada, for whatsoever reason. But Jung Hee Joo or any of his family members are hardly seen to be worried or file a complaint- or do anything at all about it. They even shift from Granada to Seoul, without any action taken. All Jung Hee Joo does is keep mailing him, but even that is mostly replied by Jin Woo. Now, these are the little things that writers of the drama could have worked on- if these loopholes were not there, this drama would be perfect.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The OSTs are nice though- goes perfectly with the feel of the drama.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Memoreis Of the Alhambra is, honestly, a one time watch. The drama, not so good, was otherwise very creative. You can also enjoy the drama on Netflix, so if you really love gaming, or action- this drama has to make it to your to-be-watched-k drama list.</div>
